On the other hand, what can coordinating and planning your finances accomplish? Just the opposite of the above.

PROPER PLANNING IS YOUR ONLY LEGITIMATE CHANCE TO BEAT THE ODDS, AND GET WHAT YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE!

Don't get me wrong. We are not saying that we can guarantee that everything will be perfect when planning is performed. No, that would be ridiculous to say.

However, after more than ten years of experience, it is easy to say that:

PLANNING IS THE ONE COMMON INGREDIENT IN ALL SUCCESSFUL VENTURES! SHOW ME EVEN ONE THRIVING BUSINESS THAT DOES AS LITTLE PLANNING AS THE AVERAGE FAMILY!

What we are talking about here is setting goals, developing a plan to reach those goals, and monitoring the progress of the plan to make any changes on a timely basis!

The traditional random method of buying financial products from salespeople is basically history. A salesperson who does not bother to help you prepare a plan before making recommendations is NOT DOING YOU ANY FAVORS!

Let me use a great example:

You go to the doctor with a stomach ache. After talking to you about your symptoms, the nurse leaves the examining room, and returns a short time later with a prescription for a drug signed by the doctor. You are amazed about two things!

One, is that the doctor prescribed the medication without even performing a diagnosis, and two, it is the same drug that was prescribed for your brother by this same doctor, for his sunburn! How could two totally unrelated health problems have the same cure?

Imagine your surprise when you find out that your nephew went to this same doctor for asthma, and was given the same medicine! If you didn't know better, you might think that this doctor had some axe to grind, and was benefiting somehow from "pushing" this prescription.

Could you ever contemplate a doctor doing this? If they did, they would be kicked out of the business so fast that their head would be spinning!

However, many financial salespeople do this on a daily basis. No matter what the financial problem is, everyone gets the same product! Whether you know it or not, this may have happened to you. More than once.
